For instance, you can choose to have the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen areas but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only minor issue is that it can crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing, where it's going, and which obstacles it's avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time and the mop is capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, while the vacuum is able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. 2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could overlook.

The Roborock model, like the other two I tried it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its path and clean the objects without a pause.

It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-filling.

The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with its innovative features, top suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its innovative design lets users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the most effective options available. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There are a lot of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These can be set via the app or there are buttons that can be found on the device itself.
