WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrade that is used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from item upgraders NPCs for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, Item Level Upgrade or armor with an button, which will display a preview of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current level of the item level upgrade (click here now), with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. In Season 3, many new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade item to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will cost less, even if they belong to an entirely different set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is cut too, but it is only available once certain milestones are reached.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it will bring some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's Best item upgrade to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you have available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
