1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its greatest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste most other robots can't avoid (and often go through). It's the first robot to send you pictures of the objects that it encounters, meaning you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we've ever tested. It removes dirt and spills quickly leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep in areas that you don't want. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it using voice.

Its design is a step above the competition with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy rather than a loud, loud one. Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal System is also self-emptying which will cut down your cleaning time.

In our tests, the j7+ was quick to remove dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one spot rather than sending it scattering across the floor. It even managed to capture sand and small gravel, which most other robots can't. And it did all this without getting caught in our pet's shedding hair.

The j7+, although not as intelligent as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it isn't able to clean the stairs, it's an option for those who need both mopping and vacuum. It's not expensive and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.

While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however we've found it be less reliable than other apps that utilize robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates, and it is sometimes difficult to tell if they are working until you see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean your floors A hybrid is the best option. These bots are equipped with a tank of water so they can mop and vacuum at the same time. These bots also have a variety of extra features such as smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. The disadvantage is that they tend to be pricey at full retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.

Roborock makes some of our most loved robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't come with some of the premium features (like no-go zones or multi-story memories), it's still a great choice when you're willing to make some compromises to save a few dollars.

The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles such as tables and walls and walls, which makes it an excellent option for homes with a lot of furniture. It is also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums aren't able to meet. The Q5+'s navigation system is superb, with only a few mishaps along walls and in corners.

The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled with just a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go areas or modify your home map or re-label the rooms.

If you decide to go with the Q5+, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock specifically designed to make this machine easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once it's installed, emptying the bin is done without difficulty. It also comes with an impressive LCD display, which is nice to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't necessary for everyone, however it can help you easily keep track of the robot vacuum price's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively intelligent in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and features are some of the most advanced available however it's expensive.

It's a small base station that looks beautiful and is easily hidden when not in use. But the station's main selling point is how it automates numerous tasks and functions that other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot charged and clean.

Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive as well. It's the only robovacs that I've tested that does a really good job of picking up debris on plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robot vacuums. This means it could get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It's not able to climb stairs as well as competitors,, and it doesn't have a dock that allows the user to set up an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do it all.

If you're looking to save some cash, or just don't care about the limitations of this robot, there are plenty of other great choices available, including a lot of eufy models that cost significantly less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example, is cheaper and has more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, which provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on plain floors carpets with low pile and even high-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy is an Anker company that has an established track record of making robot vacuums that offer the perfect balance of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning of hard floors as well as mopping functions as well as carpets at an affordable price point. It's easy to set up, simply connect one of the side brush and then turn it on. Then connect your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to place the dock near an outlet for power and ample space for it to move around, however.

The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and can be placed under couches and other furniture with a low clearance. The design is more modest than other models, with sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical: auto vacuum Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The main characteristic that distinguishes the G30 apart from most competitors is the way it cleans. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable items that are in its path. It can remember the things it has cleaned and what it is unable to access. When it's time to recharge, it will automatically return to its base and resumes cleaning from where it began.

The sleek G30 has its flaws however. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, offers a similar battery life, and is more effective on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It has a larger dust bin, which does not require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and has less difficulty handling bulky products such as cereal.
