WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however, they are always cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that are used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using an button, which will show an image of the item level upgrade (click through the following post) when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade item cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.

Many locations offer item upgraders which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players finish certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a positive and a disadvantage.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once a player has upgraded to a certain item level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is true even if the items are from an entirely different set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade is reduced and the discount is affixed to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

Players have a number of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important component of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that Crests are only available to equipment of a certain rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests depending on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an item upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and pathways.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade item process. For example, once an Best item upgrader is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning to create. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
