WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for the latter because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item Level upgrade will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item level upgrade will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that are used to upgrade items weapons, tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased by players from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with a button, which will display an image of the item at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current level of the item and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
